Diva Cup – This post is for women, particularly those who like to go naked! Men, if period-discussion makes you uncomfortable, then keep reading 😉
Well I came across just a little menstruation (Yeah it’s like 6th grade health class all over again) product awhile back called the Diva Cup. I was definitely interested to attempt it, and when I saw it on the shelf in my own local health food store, I snatched it up! The Diva Cup is a silicone-established menstrual cup that’s inserted into the vagina just like a tampon. Yet, instead of consuming everything, it’s all gathered in the cup. You can wear it for up to 12 hours at a time (compared to altering a tampon every few hours), and it doesn’t leak! (Given it is properly fit, and it might take http://purenudism2017.com/nudist/ .)
Diva Cup and its carrying case
Can you dread the “ruby wave” crashing your nakation? I know many girls do, particularly those new to naturism. Well I was excited to review this on my site because this really is excellent for naturist women! It is so distinct, you no more have to be worried about an awkward, observable tampon string. Ladies, this can be a much better way to appreciate going absolutely unclothed during your period and be more relaxed and comfortable doing so. It took me a day or two to get used to it, but the cup is actually quite easy to use. I remember hearing about this sort of merchandise quite a long time past, thinking it sounded messy and a little gross, but it is not. Plus it is so much more suitable than tampons. (Ever been to Sandy Hook naked beach and had to excursion back and forth to the bathroom a mile away?) It also might take a little practice, but it actually won’t leak when it’s correctly inserted.
The other advantages of using the Diva Cup instead of tampons and sanitary napkins are that it’s eco friendly and saves a lot of money. The Diva Cup individuals did some calculations, estimating that the typical woman will use 10,000 tampons and sanitary napkins in her lifetime. That is a lot of resulting waste and cash. They also quote some research: “More than 170,000 tampon applicators were collected along U.S. coastal regions between 1998 and 1999.” There’s so much plastic and waste that washes up on shores, and I’d prefer to not add my dropped tampon applicators to it. Ick! If properly cared for, the Diva Cup will survive for 1 year and costs around $30 to $40, making it more cost-effective than tampons/pads purchased in per year. (I found mine for $33.)
The drawbacks? For one, I was irritated by the long list of soaps which you shouldn’t use to clean it, aka every type of soap I had at home. But truly any light, unscented soap should be good, or you are able to get the Diva Wash, especially made because of it. Another problem is if you end up attempting to take it outside and wash it privately in a public bathroom. Nobody needs to take that up to the sink. The solution is easy though: empty it into the toilet, clean it away with some tissue, and good to go until you get home.
